Chamberlain Teacher Arrested in I-75 Wrong-Way Driving Incident
The Florida Highway Patrol said he drove the wrong way on the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway and then got on I-75 going in the wrong direction.

A 24-year-old teacher was behind bars Sunday morning accused of driving the wrong way on two Tampa roads.
The incident occurred around 3:50 a.m. Sunday when the Florida Highway Patrol started receiving calls about a gold 2001 Saturn going eastbound in the westbound lanes of the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway, an email from Sgt. Steve Gaskins said. The driver eventually got onto Interstate 75 going south in the northbound lanes.
When the Saturn pulled off at the northbound Gibsonton Drive entrance ramp, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was waiting for him, Gaskins said.

Troopers arrived on the scene and arrested the man on a DUI charge. He was also cited for going the wrong way on a limited access roadway, Gaskins said.
Arrested was Kevin Thomas Smisor. He was being held at the Hillsborough County Jail Sunday in lieu of $500 bond. Smisor, who refused a blood alcohol test, listed his occupation as a teacher at Chamberlain High School, according to jail records.
