Carrollwood area motorists who use Fletcher Avenue for their morning commutes might want to steer in a different direction this morning, July 9. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says Fletcher is closed between Nebraska Avenue and 15th Street following a collision with a Verizon pole. The roadway is expected to remain closed until about 9 a.m., said spokeswoman Melissa Kincheloe. "We have no information on the driver of the vehicle because they fled after the crash," sheriff's office spokeswoman Cristal Bermudez Nunez wrote in an email to media.
