Darren Pena Salon Celebrates One-Year-Anniversary with Celebrity “Blowout” Event to benefit PACE Center for Girls Sept. 7 Leading Global Hairstylist and Tampa Bay Native Inspired to Give Back to the Tampa Bay Community with Star-Studded Event

As sultry, summer celebrations make way for fabulous fall events, Tampa Bay’s leading global hairstylist and educator, Darren Pena, is not only celebrating the one-year-anniversary of the salon that bears his name, he is also giving back to the community that has given him such ongoing support with a star-studded celebrity “blowout” Friday, Sept. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Darren Pena Salon (located at 10330 North Dale Mabry Highway) in Tampa, Fla. A fundraising event to benefit PACE Center for Girls, local celebrities such as; Corey Dylan, radio host at WFLA-AM; Cyndi Edwards, host of the syndicated lifestyle show, Daytime; Lynne Austin, original Hooters girl, Hooters Nation and CBS Sports 1010 radio host; Roxanne Wilder, Studio 10 host and sports reporter; Julie Weintraub, founder and president of Hands Across the Bay and vice president, Gold & Diamond Source; Jen Holloway, former Bay News 9 host and Bright House Networks host;  Tina Jackson, fashion stylist and her husband, Dexter Jackson, retired NFL MVP among others try their hand as stylists to raise funding for the organization.

            The entire Tampa Bay community is invited to join in on the fun and give back to the community by donating at least $15 for a blowout, of which one hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit PACE Center for Girls. Attendees are also encouraged to bring pre-owned cocktail and eveningwear donations, which will then be re-sold at the PACE Center for Girls’ “Love that Dress!” event on Sept. 21 at the Marriott Hotel, (located at 12600 Roosevelt Blvd.) in St. Petersburg, Fla. For each evening dress or gown donated, donors will receive a free ticket to the “Love That Dress!” event, where hundreds of dresses priced between $10 and $75 will be available for purchase.

            For those who wish to take part in the day but are unable to be present during the event, Darren Pena Salon is making it easy for them to give back too. New and current customers can take part by scheduling any spa service on Sept. 7 of which Darren Pena Salon will donate 15 percent sales to PACE Center for Girls. Appointments are required and are limited based upon availability.
