FREE ART LECTURE WITH ROBERT JASPER

FREE ART LECTURE WITH ROBERT JASPER AT THE CARROLLWOOD CULTURAL CENTER ON JANUARY 20

Artist Robert Jasper will present a free art lecture titled “Australia Revisited” on Thursday, January 20 at 7 p.m. at the Carrollwood Cultural Center located at 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa.

Jasper, the Center’s featured artist of the month for January, started painting when he was 10 years old when his family moved to Australia. At 16, Jasper left Australia, but not before he developed an attachment for the land and its people.

In 2007, Jasper returned to Australia and took photos of the most memorable places he visited. He was most inspired by the "red center" in the Northern Territory, which provided him with most of the material for his “Australia Revisited” collection of paintings.

Jasper’s work, mostly watercolor and oil, resembles realistic landscapes, portraits and some still life.
