Florida Department Of Health In Hillsborough County: Hillsborough County Offers COVID-19 Pfizer Pediatric Vaccine For Children Ages 5 To 11

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Nov. 10, 2021) - Hillsborough County is offering free COVID-19 Pfizer pediatric vaccines for children ages 5 to 11.    Children ages 5 to 11 who are accompanied by their parent or legal guardian can now receive their first dose of the COVID-19 Pfizer pediatric vaccine at Progress Village Park, 8701 Progress Blvd., Tampa, FL 33619. The site is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and it will be open regular hours on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

The child’s parent or legal guardian needs to be at the site to verbally confirm the child’s age. While no appointment is required, the second-dose appointment will be made during the first-dose visit. If a parent or legal guardian would like to make an appointment for the child’s first dose, they can visit patientportalfl.com. The Pfizer pediatric vaccine dosage is one-third of the adolescent and adult dose. Children 5 to 11 years old will be vaccinated with two 10-microgram doses administered 21 days apart. 

COVID-19 vaccinations are free at the Progress Village Park site. Proof of medical insurance is recommended and should be presented at the time of the COVID-19 vaccination. People without medical insurance will still be vaccinated for free.

The Progress Village Park site continues to offer free COVID-19 testing, vaccinations, and booster shots during regular business hours. 

There are local retail pharmacies throughout the county that are offering COVID-19 Pfizer pediatric vaccines. Those locations are also offering vaccinations for people 12 and over and boosters for those who are eligible. Visit HCFLGov.net/COVID19, Florida Vaccine Locator, or Vaccines.gov  to locate pharmacies and other sites offering vaccinations.
