Homicide Victim's Roommate Arrested on Drug Charges
Deputies have not said if the man is a suspect in the Carrollwood death investigation.

A Tampa man will spend his 22nd birthday behind bars following a Monday morning homicide in the Carrollwood area.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Jorge Rivero Perez Tuesday. Perez, who turns 22 Wednesday, shared a home at 14314 Ravenwood Lane with Oscar Luis Castro Gonzalez, 33.

Deputies responded to the home Monday after Perez placed a 911 call around 3:56 a.m. When they arrived, they found Perez inside the home and Gonzalez dead, an email from the agency to media stated.
The homicide investigation is still ongoing and detectives have not stated if Perez is a suspect. They have, however, charged him with possession of marijuana and cocaine. He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail with a hold placed on his release by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an email from the sheriff’s office stated.

The sheriff’s office has not said how Gonzalez died and is releasing no further information at this time.
