JP Peterson of 1010AM Beats Olympic Swimming Champ Brooke Bennett
Yes, it's true. The challenger is now the champion. Peterson beat Bennett in a 50-meter race in the pool at Emerald Greens.
Three time Olympic champion Brooke Bennett fell to 1010AM's JP Peterson on Thursday afternoon during a race at the Emerald Greens Recreation Center's swimming pool in Carrollwood.
The wager between the radio personality and the swimming phenom was simple: If Peterson beat Bennett, he earned a night out on the town - wearing her three gold medals. If Bennett won, she got a spa day at Peterson's expense.
At the start of the afternoon race, which was broadcast on Peterson's show Thursday afternoon, Peterson was given a 15 yard head start for the 50-meter race.

Fifteen yards might not sound like much, considering Bennett's races are the 400 meter and 800 meter. A 15 yard head start is more than half the length of the pool - which only had to be swam there and back.
Nevertheless, Peterson stayed true to his word and beat Bennett by a few seconds.

"I'm gonna smoke her. It's not even going to be close," he said.
Peterson credits his win to a training regimen of beer, vodka and chicken wings.
"I trained like one day for this," said Peterson. "I spent more time shopping for the swimming suit than I did actually training."
