Keel Library Remains Closed Through Thursday
Tuesday afternoon rain storms caused flooding at the regional library.

Patrons who pulled up to the Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library on Wednesday couldn’t check out books, but they could make drop offs.
That’s because the 2902 W. Bearss Ave. library had to close down Tuesday night following storms that left flooding damage inside.
By Wednesday morning, work to get the library back up and running was evident to passersby. While signs on the door spoke of the May 22 closing, commercial fans whirred away just inside, drying water damage.

It remains unclear when the library will reopen for business, but the county says curbside service is available between the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to help patrons that need to drop off books, pay fines or pick up books that are on hold. The county did say the library will be closed at least through Thursday, May 23.
