Man Found Hiding Beneath House; Wanted For Crashing Into Home

CARROLLWOOD, FL -- A man wanted for leaving the scene of a crash with serious injuries has been arrested after being found hiding under a house.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Robert Devon Siders, 30, of Sean Road, Tampa, was charged Monday in connection with an accident that occurred at 6:34 p.m. Saturday , Nov. 24.

Deputies say Siders was driving his 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when it crashed through the front walls of a home at 12428 Pepperfield Drive in the Country Run subdivision of Carrollwood.

A 71-year-old woman and her dog were sitting on a couch inside the home and were pinned by the truck. It took Hillsborough County Fire Rescue more than 30 minutes to free her and the dog. She was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital in critical condition where she remains. The dog was no injured.

Deputies say Siders abandoned the Silverado and fled the scene on foot after the accident.

A warrant was issued for Siders' arrest and he was located Monday afternoon hiding underneath a house at 12901 Four Oaks Road in Carrollwood.

He is charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury, reckless driving with serious bodily injury and driving with canceled, suspended or revoked license.
