Identity Of Man Killed On Bruce B. Downs Released
The man killed Monday, May 14, after being hit by a car on Bruce B.. Downs Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. was 77-year-old William Costello.
TAMPA, FL -- The man killed Monday, May 14, after being hit by a car on Bruce B.. Downs Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. was 77-year-old William Costello of 7407 Bonita Vista Way in Tampa.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Costello was involved in an accident on Bruce B. Downs at USF Pine Drive.
As deputies arrived on the scene to investigate the accident, Costello walked east from the northbound median lane of Bruce B. Downs within the intersection to retrieve information from his car for the crash report.

That was when he was struck by a 2017 Kia Sorrento driven by Adrianne Ojeda, 20, of 9610 N. 55 St. Temple Terrace, who was traveling north on Bruce B. Downs in the center through lane. Costello died at the scene.
