Update: Motorcyclist Dies in Northdale Crash

Update Oct. 31, 11:16 a.m.: The sheriff’s office has identified the motorcyclist as Corban G. Stoltzfoos, 18, of Tampa. He was riding a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja.

A bicyclist out riding early Friday morning discovered the wreckage of fatal motorcycle crash at Ashwood Drive.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the wreck is believed to have happened around 12:30 a.m. The motorcyclist was riding northbound on Northdale Boulevard doing an estimated 45 to 50 mph. The bike left the roadway, struck a tree and then hit a concrete wall, killing the rider.

A homeowner who lives directly behind the wall told deputies he heard something around 12:30 a.m., but did not see anything.

The accident remains under investigation. The name of the motorcyclist has not yet been released.
