Update: Northbound Dale Mabry Highway Reopens

Hazmat was on the scene of the crash that happened at Dale Mabry and Lazy Lane.

Update May 6 9:23 a.m.: The sheriff's office has announced that all northbound lanes of Dale Mabry Highway are open.

The northbound lanes of Dale Mabry are closed between Humphrey Street and Busch Boulevard following an accident at Lazy Lane, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash involved a vehicle and a lawn care truck. While the sheriff’s office says there are no serious injuries, liquid fertilizer leaked from the lawn truck.

"Hillsborough County Fire Rescue's Hazardous Incident team is on scene with two
engine companies and a tanker, they are working to disperse the product
without affecting any nearby waterways," a release from Fire Rescue stated.

It is estimated about 250 gallons of fertilizer mixed with water spilled onto the roadway.
