Prep Hoops Star Expected to Go Early in NBA Draft
John Henson, who played at Sickles High and went on to the University of North Carolina, is projected to go in the top 10 in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Former Sickles High standout John Henson is one of the top prospects in the 2012 NBA Draft this week, according to projections from NBADraft.net.
Henson, a 6-foot-11, 220-pound power forward who played his collegiate basketball at the University of North Carolina, is projected to go in the top 10, possibly to the Detroit Pistons at No. 9, according to ESPN.
Henson played for Coach Renaldo Garcia during his senior year at Sickles, according to TarHeelBlue.com, and previously attended Round Rock High School in Texas for three years.

His prep accomplishments at Sickles included scoring a season-high 29 points against Tampa Bay Tech, being named the Tampa Bay Coaches Association Player of the Year and being a first-team all-state selection. He was also a McDonald's and Jordan All-American.
The 2012 NBA Draft begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 28, and will be shown live on ESPN.
