Ruth Neinhaus Teaches Advanced Watercolor Techniques
May 22, senior artist Ruth Neinhaus teaches an Advanced Watercolor Techniques workshop on painting still-lifes at the Life Enrichment Center
Accomplished artist and veteran instructor, Ruth Neinhaus teaches a variety of Advanced Watercolor Techniques at the Life Enrichment Center one Friday afternoon of each month. Ruth’s workshops will explore different a different approach to painting with watercolor in each class. Paint independently on your own work with or try the technique presented in class. The class on May 22 will focus on painting a still life of a single object.
Neinhaus graduated from the University of Georgia in 1964 with a BA in art education and a minor in commercial art. She has been painting and teaching watercolor since 1980, and teaching at the Life Enrichment Center since 1987. During her career as a high school art teacher, she spent her summers taking watercolor workshops around the United States. She has studied under a number of highly regarded artists, including Edgar Whitney, Frank Webb, Don Andrews, Tony Couch, Linda Doll, Tom Lynch, Nita Engle, John Salminen, Judy Morris, and Pat Weaver.
A participating member of Florida Watercolor Society and a lifetime member of Tampa Regional Artists, Neinhaus’s artwork has earned her numerous awards and ribbons at the Florida State Fair, American Pen Women, Tampa Realistic Artists, Brandon Art League, Carrollwood Cultural Center, and other local art shows.
