Human Remains Identified As Wesley Chapel Man Missing A Year

The human remains discovered off Dale Mabry Highway July 6 have been identified as Victor Martin Torres, 60, of Wesley Chapel.

CARROLLWOOD, FL — The human remains discovered on North Dale Mabry Highway have been identified as Victor Martin Torres, 60, of Stillbrook Drive in Wesley Chapel.

A worker discovered the decomposing human remains in a watery ditch off North Dale Mabry Highway near Ehrlick Road July 6, one year after Torres was reported missing.

According to relatives, Torres was reported missing July 9, 2018, when a relative couldn't find him after arriving to pick Torres up from a doctor's appointment in the 14000 block of North Dale Mabry Highway.

The sheriff's office does not believe that foul play was a factor in his death at this time. However, the remains are being sent from the Medical Examiner's Office to the University of South Florida Institute for Forensic Anthropology for further examination.
