Tree Trimmer Killed By Falling Branch In Carrollwood Area

CARROLLWOOD, FL -- A tree trimmer died Sunday after a large branch fell on him while he was in the process of trimming a tree in a back yard in the 6700 block of Donald Avenue.

Hillsborough County firefighters were called to the home just before 11:50 a.m..The tree trimmer, whose name has not been released, was working about 30 feet off the ground when the branch fell down and struck him. He was wearing a hard hat and safety belt at the time.

The branch was so large that rescuers had to use a crane with pulleys to lift it off him, a process that took several hours, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
