Victim Dies Following Single Punch to Face
Suspect now facing manslaughter charges in Aug. 5 incident after victim dies Monday.

The suspect in an assault in front of a Stop N Shop in Tampa now faces a manslaughter charge after the victim died Monday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Darnell Lee Flournoy, 47, of the 4200 block of Capri Court, Tampa, is charged with felony battery, robbery and manslaughter.
The victim has been identified as Armin Aguilar-Velazco, 48, of Tampa.

On Wednesday, Flournoy allegedly spotted a bicycle outside the store at 1201 East 142 Avenue. He believed it was one that was stolen from him a year ago, according to HCSO spokesperson Debbie Carter.
“The suspect went inside the store and asked who the bike belonged to,” according to Carter. “When the victim went outside and unlocked the bike, the suspect confronted him and punched the victim in the face, knocking him out.”

Flournoy reportedly left the scene with two bikes. He was located and arrested the same night.
Aguilar-Velazco was transported to Tampa General Hospital. He died Monday.
