Wesley Chapel Man Dies When Car Splits In Half, Catches Fire

CARROLLWOOD, FL — A 32-year-old Wesley Chapel man died over the weekend in a dramatic fiery crash on Interstate 275 that split his car half.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 3:59 a.m. Sunday, Cliff J. Pierre Jaques was driving a BMW north on I-275 north of Bearss Avenue at a high speed when he lost control at a curve and collided with a tree.

The collision split the car in half and the rear end caught fire.

Jacques died at the scene.
