Wesley Chapel Woman Seriously Injured in Carrollwood Crash

A 22-year-old Wesley Chapel woman is in critical condition at a local hospital following a single-vehicle crash in the Carrollwood area Thursday night.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office, Marie Jacome was heading north on Lynn Road from Gunn Highway around 11 p.m. in a 2009 Nissan sedan doing about 50 mph when the accident happened. Jacome struck a raised median, drove left of center into a ditch and crashed into a TECO power pole.

Jacome was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in critical condition, the sheriff’s office stated in an email to media. Charges are pending.
