What's Offices Are Closed During the Holidays?

With just a few more days until Christmas, we found out what Hillsborough County offices and facilities are closed during the holidays.

Most offices will be closed on Monday and Tuesday and open again on Monday, Jan. 2.

Solid waste collection and disposal will not be affected in unincorporated Hillsborough County. Customers should still set out trash for collection.

Closed facilities include:

• Administrative offices of county government
• Neighborhood service centers
• Most libraries
• All county-operated Head Start/Early Start Centers
• Recreation centers
• Senior centers and nutrition sites

In addition:

• The Animal Services shelter will be closed to the public Dec. 24 to Dec. 26. The shelter will be open on Dec. 27 for normal operations the rest of the week. The shelter will be closed on Jan. 1 and 2. For emergencies, call 813-744-5660.
• The Fire Rescue Administration, Fire Marshal and Emergency Operations Center offices will be closed Dec. 26 and 27 and Jan. 2.
• The Hillsborough County InfoLine, 813-272-5900, will be closed on the observed holidays.
• All county-operated Head Start/Early Start Centers will be closed from Dec. 26 through Jan. 2.
• Libraries are closing at 6 p.m., but will re-open on Jan. 3.
• The Upper Tampa Bay Trail is open until 3 p.m. on Dec. 24. All regional parks are open on Jan. 31 and New Year's Day.
• All county recreation centers will be closed on Dec. 26, 27 and Jan. 2.
• The Public Utilities Department’s customer call center and water/wastewater customer service centers in Northdale and Brandon will be closed Dec. 26, 27 and Jan. 2. Emergency calls regarding County water and wastewater service may be made to (813) 744-5600.
• Offices of the Property Appraiser, Tax Collector and Supervisor of Elections will be closed Dec. 26, 27 and Jan. 2, as well as offices of the Clerk of the Circuit Court and court facilities.
• The offices of the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County will be closed Dec. 26, 27 and Jan. 2.
