Update: Wrong-Way Crash Claims 2nd Life
The accident happened early Thursday morning on Turner Road near Ehrlich.

Two people are dead following a fatal wrong-way crash Thursday morning.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Eric Sanders, 20, was driving north in the southbound lane of Turner Road, near Ehrlich Road, around 5:57 a.m. A southbound witness to the crash was able to swerve to avoid being struck, but deputies say Sanders’ Toyota Rav 4 hit a Nissan Sentra driven by Catherine Fleming head on.
A third vehicle, a Ford Fusion, driven by Leon Caines, 24, of Temple Terrace was following behind Fleming’s car at the time. Caines was unable to stop and struck the passenger side of Fleming’s Nissan, an email to media from the sheriff’s office stated.

Fleming died at the scene, deputies said. Sanders was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in critical condition, but died at 11:58 a.m. from injuries sustained in the crash.
Caines was uninjured in the crash.
