2 Dogs Perish In Kumquat Drive Fire

CLEARWATER, FL -- Clearwater Fire & Rescue say the cause of a fire that caused heavy damage to a house at 2749 Kumquat Drive was likely an electrical problem.

Firefighters arrived at the house fire around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, March 29.

The three people inside the house at the time of the blaze escaped without injury. However, two dogs died in the fire. One firefighter was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.

The home sustained heavy damage and the family was displaced.
