2 Rescued By Coast Guard After Boat Capsizes Off Clearwater

CLEARWATER, FL — The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two people after their boat capsized off the Florida coast near Clearwater, the agency reported Sunday.

The incident involved a center console vessel and occurred about 8 miles off of Clearwater, according to the Coast Guard.

The victims were brought to the agency's Sand Key station and met by emergency medical professionals for evaluation, the Coast Guard posted on social media around 5 p.m. Sunday.

“A hazard to navigation broadcast is being issued while salvage plans are made,” the post said.
