Update: Driver Who Fled Clearwater Crash Shows Up At Hospital
Two people were taken to the hospital as trauma alerts Thursday night following a head-on crash on North Betty Lane.
CLEARWATER, FL — The driver who fled the scene of a head-on crash on North Betty Lane Thursday night has been located.
According to Clearwater Police, the crash occurred at 9:28 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Betty Lane. One person had to be extricated from a vehicle by Clearwater firefighters. That person and a second person in the vehicle were taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as trauma alerts.
The driver of the other vehicle left the crash scene but police said he later showed up at Morton Plant Hospital with serious injuries. He was transported to Tampa General Hospital for further treatment.

The accident occurred about a half hour after another accident at U.S. 19 and Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard in which a vehicle overturned while attempted to make a turn. One person was taken to Morton Plant Hospital with minor injuries.
