3 Injured in Explosion at Mercedes Benz Dealership

Clearwater Fire Rescue is on the scene of an explosion that occurred Tuesday morning at a car dealership.

According to the agency, the incident happened around 10:30 a.m. at Lokey Mercedes Benz, 19820 U.S. 19. One worker was taken to Bayfront Health with injuries that are believed to be serious, but not life threatening. Two other people were also injured.

The identities of the workers are not available.

Few details are available at this time, but officials say the explosion ”occurred in the repair area and involved a hydraulic lift and a torch.”
