3 People Rescued In Clearwater Pass When Boat Capsized
The Coast Guard rescued three people Saturday after their 25-foot boat capsized in Clearwater Pass.

CLEARWATER, Fla. — The Coast Guard rescued three people Saturday after their 25-foot boat capsized in Clearwater Pass.
At 3:30 p.m. Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received a call reporting there was a capsized boat in the vicinity of Clearwater Pass with an unknown number of people in the water.
A Coast Guard Station Sand Key Response Boat was launched and located Zephyr Humphries, James Hutton and Leanne Hutton in the water wearing life jackets. The crew recovered all three people and transported them back to Station Sand Key.

"Once they knew the boat was going to sink, the mariners gathered their possessions and tightened their life jackets," said Petty Officer 3rd Class Thomas Mann, the coxswain of the response boat. "As they entered the water, they stayed together and our boat crew was able to locate them immediately and pull them to safety."
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and Clearwater Fire and Rescue also responded.
