4 Seriously Injured When Car Crashes Into Clearwater Duplex

According to police, the 2006 Pontiac G6​ was traveling north on Highland Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control.

CLEARWATER, FL —Four people were seriously injured Sunday when a car crashed into a duplex on Highland Avenue Sunday.

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue received the call at 4:18 a.m. and responded to the crash at 16 N. Highland Avenue.

According to police, the 2006 Pontiac G6 was traveling north on Highland Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and slammed into the duplex. The family living inside the duplex was out of town at the time of the crash.

Some victims had to be extricated from the wreckage by firefighters.

Brittania Hawk, 21, and Desyre Thomas, 19, were taken to Bayfront Health in St. Petersburg and the driver, Aaron Jackson, 24, and Yancy Perry, 32, were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa.
