Six people sustained serious injuries following an accident Sunday afternoon on U.S. 19.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Six people sustained serious injuries following an accident Sunday afternoon on U.S. 19.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 3:19 p.m. a 28-year-old Oenco man was driving south on the exit ramp from U.S. 19 approaching Ulmerton Road.
A pickup truck driven by a 41-year-old Clearwater man was traveling west on Ulmerton Road under a green light at the underpass of U.S. 19.

And a pickup truck driven by a 29-year-old Land O' Lakes man was heading west on Ulmerton Road adjacent to the other pickup truck.
Troopers said the car ran the red light at the intersection and collided with the right side of the first pickup truck. Both vehicles rotated and crashed a second time, and the pickup truck overturned and collided with the second pickup truck.

All three drivers and three passengers were taken to the hospital in serious condition.
