80-Year-Old Dies After Clearwater Crash
The woman was attempting to cross State Road 580 when she was struck by a car.
An 80-year-old Oldsmar woman critically injured during a Tuesday crash in Clearwater has died.
According to the Clearwater Police Department, Elisa Castiglioni was attempting to cross State Road 580 at Countryside Boulevard around 11:20 a.m. Tuesday when she was struck by a car. The car’s driver, Diana Sprinlock, 64, was turning right from Countryside at the time, police said.
Castiglioni, police wrote in an email to media, was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident. She was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in critical condition, but later died from her injuries, police announced Wednesday morning.
