82-Year-Old Man Critical After Driving Into Building

CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue were called to a vehicle-versus-building crash Wednesday.

The call came in at 11:39 a.m. from the Public Utilities Department's wastewater treatment plant in the 1600 block of Harbor Drive. The 82-year-old driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as a trauma alert.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
