Accused Shoplifter Charged With Punching Elderly Walmart Greeter
An elderly Walmart greeter was punched and rammed with a shopping cart when he got in the way of a shoplifter at the Clearwater Walmart.

CLEARWATER, FL -- An elderly Walmart greeter was punched and rammed with a shopping cart when he got in the way of a shoplifter at the Clearwater Walmart Supercenter.
According to Clearwater Police, the greeter was working at the Walmart at 2677 Roosevelt Blvd. on Wednesday, March 22, when he spotted a woman leaving the store with a shopping cart loaded with nearly $500 worth of stolen merchandise.
When the greeter confronted the woman, she reportedly rammed him several times with the shopping car and punched the greeter in the stomach.

The woman, identified as Xana Maria Chiarmonte, 21, was ultimately taken into custody by store security and handed over the police.
She was charged with grand theft, battery on a person age 65 or older, strong-armed robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia.
