AmeriCorps Clearwater Looking for 2 Candidates

The positions give people law enforcement experience while helping offset college costs.

Tampa Bay area residents interested in launching a career in law enforcement have an opportunity to get hands-on experience courtesy of two announced vacancies in the AmeriCorps Clearwater squad.

Although based in Clearwater, applicants do not have to live within the city limits. They do, however, have to have an interest in earning “valuable law enforcement experience,” the city announced in an email to media.

The Clearwater program is part of the AmeriCorps family of national service programs and is described as “the domestic Peace Corps,” the agency’s website states. “AmeriCorps Clearwater aims to improve the lives of citizens by providing child safety education, engaging in community service and assisting the Clearwater Police Department to increase response to the needs of the community.”
