Don't Bite The Bait: Clearwater Officials Flag High-Pressure Water Scams, Fake Grant Letters (tampafp.com) — Clearwater officials are warning residents about aggressive door-to-door water testing pitches and suspicious “Florida Grant Services” letters that may try to separate homeowners from their money. The city stresses its water already meets safety standards, urges residents to rely on official programs, and provides phone numbers to verify utilities or report suspected scams.    

2. Clearwater man seriously injured after SUV rolls over on US 19: FHP (fox13news.com) — A 20-year-old Clearwater man was seriously injured Tuesday evening when his speeding SUV overturned on southbound U.S. 19 just south of Republic Drive, ejecting him from the vehicle. Florida Highway Patrol says he was taken to a nearby hospital, and troopers are still investigating what caused him to lose control.    

3. Alec Bohm seeks return of $528,618 from parents, fires agent Scott Boras amid legal battle (nytimes.com) — Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm is locked in a legal battle with his parents that directly involves a Clearwater home they all once shared, while he seeks the return of more than $500,000 and challenges how his finances were handled. The case spans courts in Philadelphia and Pinellas County, with new filings detailing disputed LLCs, arbitration, and competing claims over his assets.    

4. Florida mosquito advice: How Pinellas County monitors and fights outbreaks ahead of rainy season (fox13news.com) — Pinellas County is ramping up mosquito control and urging residents, including those in Clearwater, to dump standing water and use repellents as rainy season approaches. The county offers free home treatments and will host a tire collection this Saturday, including a drop-off site on U.S. 19 in Clearwater, to cut down on mosquito breeding.    

5. ‘Stick to matters of morality,' Vance tells the pope (fox8.com) — A Clearwater pastor is among national faith leaders condemning a recent social media image comparing the president to Jesus, calling it plainly wrong even while some still support his administration. His comments appear in a broader report on Vice President JD Vance’s response to tensions between the White House and the pope over the controversial post.
