1. Clearwater woman allegedly hits boyfriend with laptop during argument: What we know (attackofthefanboy.com) — A Clearwater woman is facing three felony charges after police say she struck her boyfriend with a laptop in their Cleveland Street high-rise, knocking him unconscious during an argument over alleged cheating. The Pinellas County case, based on a Clearwater Police affidavit, could carry significant prison time if she's convicted, and a judge has ordered no contact and set a $20,000 bond while prosecutors review the evidence.
2. Clearwater upgrades garbage and recycling trucks with cameras, tracking software (fox13news.com) — Clearwater has outfitted 53 garbage and recycling trucks with cameras and tablet-based routing software, aiming to improve safety and cut down on missed pickups. City officials say the Routeware system lets them track trucks in real time, respond faster to complaints, and gather data that will guide future upgrades to Clearwater's recycling program.
3. Clearwater man accused of stealing over $2K at Florida Keys resort (wfla.com) — A Clearwater man has been arrested in the Florida Keys after deputies say he racked up more than $2,000 in unauthorized charges at a resort, using another guest's room and identification. Monroe County detectives worked the case with resort security and the Clearwater Police Department before warrants were issued and he was booked into jail on grand theft and fraud-related charges.
4. More women under 45 are being diagnosed with breast cancer: What doctors want you to know (fox13news.com) — A Clearwater plastic surgeon says he's seeing more breast cancer patients in their late 30s and early 40s, underscoring the importance of early screening for local women. He explains how reconstruction options are now more personalized, while the American Cancer Society urges women to follow updated mammogram guidelines and invites residents to the Oct. 24 Making Strides walk at Raymond James Stadium.
5. Michael Larrimore: Model by day, BKFC star by night (bkfc.com) — Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is bringing Fight Night Clearwater to OCC Road House on October 23, with model and fighter Michael "Papa G" Larrimore in the co-main event.
