
A 37-year-old man faces attempted first-degree murder charges following a Tuesday morning shooting on Palmetto Street.
According to the Clearwater Police Department, two men got into an argument around 12:45 a.m. at 907 Palmetto St. Officers were notified of shots fired in the area and responded to the scene. Once there, they found a man outside the apartment with several gunshot wounds.
That man, Jason Hadley, 23, was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with life-threatening injuries, an email to media from the police department stated.

While Hadley underwent surgery and is now listed in stable condition, Steven Soto has been charged in the shooting. Soto had fled the scene by the time officers arrived, but was captured by a K-9 unit a short time later, still carrying a gun, the email noted.
Soto, who has a prior criminal history and convictions, was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Soto was being held without bond in the Pinellas County Jail Tuesday morning.
