Bad Parking Job Leads To DUI Arrest In Clearwater Beach

Police were notified that a car was precariously perched with the back end on the pavement and the front end hanging over the water.

CLEARWATER, FL — A 38-year-old man is facing charges of driving under the influence after Clearwater police discovered his Lexus RX-350 parked in a makeshift space behind Pier House 60, 101 Coronado Drive in Clearwater Beach.

On Monday afternoon, police were notified that a car was precariously perched with the back end on the pavement and the front end hanging over the water.

Police traced the car to owner Matthew Adams who was arrested.

The incident elicited 164 comments on the Clearwater Police Department Facebook page.

"Would love to be a fly on the wall when they call the insurance carrier," Collin Kostiha said.

“Farmers Insurance- we cover that," quipped Rachel Smith.

"Whoopsie!! Hate when that happens...it's the city's fault; they moved the street without telling me," Jane Johnston Nichols said.
