Become a Disciple of Christ Today

FRESH BREAD: Following Jesus requires a total commitment to turn away from selfish ways. "Taking up one's cross" - a metaphor for giving up one's life to follow Him, is the essence of being a disciple of Christ. This lifestyle requires removing anything from our lives that would interfere with following our Lord regardless of how painful doing so might be. It requires entrusting one's life entirely to Jesus. It even requires putting loyalty to Jesus above loyalty to one's own father and mother. Acceptance of the call to follow Jesus - to be a disciple of His, is the most important decision one will ever make. However, along with the demands for discipleship come the rewards...entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven (Mark 9:43-47). So today ask Jesus to be Lord of YOUR life; commit to living in a manner He would be pleased of; heed His commands. Then and only then will you be called a disciple of Christ. Selah!
