Newly appointed Pinellas County Commissioner Jay J. Beyrouti was officially sworn in Tuesday, July 17, during an investiture ceremony.

CLEARWATER, FL -- Newly appointed Pinellas County Commissioner Jay J. Beyrouti was officially sworn in Tuesday, July 17, during an investiture ceremony led by Judge Bill Burgess.

“It’s such an honor to be appointed to the county commission,” said Beyrouti. “I’m looking forward to being a part of the leadership of this great county. I think it’s the best county in the nation and it will be a privilege to serve in this role.”

Beyrouti took his ceremonial oath of office four days after Gov. Rick Scott appointed him to fill the District 6 vacancy opened by the death of Commissioner John Morroni in May. Beyrouti will serve in the role until the term expires in November.
