Bicyclist in Crash With Officer Identified
Clearwater Police say the 63-year-old man is expected to recover.

The Clearwater Police Department has released more details in a Tuesday night crash involving an unmarked patrol vehicle and a bicyclist.
Police say David C. Robinson, 63, of Clearwater was riding a bicycle south on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue around 10:46 p.m. when he ran into an unmarked Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Sgt. Kevin Insco that was headed eastbound on Court Street. Preliminary information “reveals that the officer had a green light, and the bicyclist had a red light and the do-not-cross pedestrian signal, as well,” an email to media from the department stated.
Robinson, police said, rode his bike into the left front side of the Tahoe. Robinson was airlifted to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, the email stated. He is, however, expected to recover and may be released soon.
