Bicyclist Injured In Bayside Bridge Crash ID'd
A Palm Harbor man was hospitalized in critical condition after a Friday morning crash on the Bayside Bridge.

CLEARWATER, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a Friday morning crash on the Bayside Bridge that sent a 52-year-old Palm Harbor man to the hospital in critical condition.
According to authorities, Stephen Xavier Alimonda was riding a bicycle southbound across the bridge around 6:12 a.m. June 23. At that time, Clement W. Dumas, 62, of New Port Richey was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe southbound, a highway patrol report said.
Troopers say Alimonda was in the outside paved shoulder, but Dumas failed to maintain his lane. Once in the shoulder, Dumas’ Hyundai collided with Alimonda, the report said.

Alimonda was taken to Bayfront Health in critical condition, troopers noted. Dumas was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation with charges pending its outcome. No further information is being released at this time.
