Body Found Offshore of Clearwater Identified

A resident made the discovery Friday morning.

CLEARWATER, FL – The Clearwater Police Department has released the identity of the man whose body was found in the intracoastal waterway off Clearwater’s mainland Friday.

According to the agency, the man is Ronald Charles Tilbe, 72. Police say Tilbe was a local transient.

Tilbe’s body was found around 9:30 a.m. Friday about 50 yards west of the bluff between Turner Street and Magnolia Drive.

The cause of death remains under investigation. Police on Friday said there was no immediate evidence of trauma.
