Bones That Appear Human Found On Mandalay Point Road

CLEARWATER, FL — Clearwater police detectives are conducting a death investigation after bones were found Thursday morning that appear to be human remains.

Clearwater police said the call came in just after 9 a.m. from the 1200 block of Mandalay Point Road. That's where a county worker made the discovery in some mangroves.

The Pinellas County Medical Examiner's office will attempt to determine the cause of death, as well as the identity of the person. It is likely that the remains have been at that location for a few weeks, according to Clearwater Police public information officer Rob Shaw.
