Read all about it! The housing market took another dive in the 1st quarter. Or did it?
National media is reporting about the double dip in the housing market, The 1st quarter sales are down nationally! Prices are down! There is one problem with generalizations and averages. It does not apply everywhere.
First quarter results in Pinellas County are promising. In my last post I reported sales were up, inventory down and prices stable or slightly up in some areas. That is still true. Today's paper reports a new 30 home subdivision opening this week. A major builder would not start a new subdivision without research demonsrating a market for their homes. At least I would hope not.
Facts and figures tell a lot about housing and can predict the future - to a degree. Public opinion influenced by national media can affect the market as well. Before deciding to buy or not talk to your local real estate professional for a reality check.
