The children in Washington are about to vote on some trade agreements with South Korea, Columbia and a few other low cost producers - Does this make sense?
The end result is obvious, we are about to export more manufacturing jobs. Why would GM, GE or any other manufacturer invest in the USA when they can get things done for a $1.50 an hour abroad, ship the product back here making a good profit while paying less tax!
The bills will be passed with all parties agreeing that it will encourage job growth and help the economy. The same argument used to justify the signing of NAFTA in '92, since then, according to a GEI Study 29,000,000 jobs have been lost or exported.
The only beneficiaries of these agreements are big banks, the giant agricultural companies and, yes you guessed it, the legal profession - representing some of the biggest contributors to our politicians war chests. The DC Kids again show their disdain for 'the people' responding only to these big donors.
As I said in an , we have a vote but we're without a voice. Ask 10 people you know if they think it's a great idea to have a free trade agreement with South Korea - I suspect you and I already know the answer.
The politicians and lobbyists who play in Washington have become totally isolated from well over 80 percent of the population, when was the last time they did anything meaningful that effected you in a positive way?
And now we're in the two year election season and know that absolutely nothing will be done until after the inauguration, 15 months away, but I'm sure that 'we the people' don't have a problem with waiting for action... Do we?
