Thank You for Your Input on the Coachman Park Survey

One of our was about enhancing Coachman Park in a specific way.

Just so we are clear on things, the Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition has not endorsed or rendered an opinion on Coachman Park, yet. Naturally, we want to see what options and ideas are available before we get into a big yelling and screaming discussion, then endorse an idea. That's what groups do right? Right?

Recently we acquired some really cool information technology toys to help get us into the digital age. We're still checking stuff out too. When you get these toys there's always a break-in period where you're not suppose to do things until some time has passed, but you kind of do it anyway. Well we wanted to try some stuff out and one of the things was an online survey.

We had a consultant come to one of our meetings to talk to the us about Coachman Park. We are fortunate in that many groups and organizations come talk to us about ideas to get input and information. After this particular meeting we casually mentioned that we had a really cool toy locked up in our computer server room and then before you know it one thing lead to another.

This recent Coachman Park Enhancement Survey was a way to put the pedal to the metal on one of our new toys and at the same time help the consultant with this idea.

Secretly it also set up some checks and balances with regard to the data source.  You see every time we see a consultant report that says "If a big hole is dug here people will come from all around just to pour money in it and the community will be better off." 

After some years have passed the people pouring the money in the hole aren't the ones who expected it would be them that would be pouring their money in the hole. Soon new tantalizing holes are dug but it's still the same trick. The consultant gets the up front money and you get to fill the hole with your own money. It's not always like this but it sure seems like it.
