Sand sculptures, burger throw-down, classic cars and a military salute are on tap this weekend in Pinellas County.

Sugar Sand Festival

One of the best festivals in the country on one of the best beaches in the world continues over the weekend.

The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival presented by Visit St. Pete/Clearwater runs April 13-22.

The festival has become one of Clearwater's most-anticipated events with elaborate sand sculptures by nationally known artists.

Police Charity Softball Game

The Clearwater Police charity softball game against the Largo Police Department is set for Saturday, April 14 at 3:30 p.m. at Spectrum Field, 601 Old Coachman Road, Clearwater.

Tickets are $20 and include admission to the softball game and a Clearwater Threshers game afterward. The event will feature fireworks, food and drinks from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit a 20-year Clearwater Police officer who is battling cancer.

Clearwater Celebrates Neighborhoods

The annual Clearwater Celebrates Neighborhoods Day, a citywide block party, will be held Saturday, April 14.

Each year, communities are encouraged to hold a block party in their neighborhood on the designated day.

City leaders and staff members will pay a visit to each block party to meet residents, socialize and discuss issues.

Tribute To Rod Stewart

Considered to be one of the best Rod Stewart Tribute Artists, Rob Caudill will perform his tribute to Rod Stewart Saturday, April 14, from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Pinellas Park Performing Arts Center, 4951 78th Ave., Pinellas Park. Safety Harbor Beer And Burger Throw-Down

Safety Harbor will host free beer samples from local craft brewers and 30 of the best burgers from restaurants and food trucks so visitors can vote on the best.

The Throw-Down will take place Saturday, April 14, from noon to 6 p.m. at Waterfront Park, 110 Veterans Memorial Lane, Safety Harbor.

The event also will include live music all day, competitions, outdoor games and a kids zone. The cost is $5 for adults. Children will be admitted for free. Proceeds will benefit the Safety Harbor Chamber Foundation.

Tampa Bay Rays Vs. Phillies

Come out to Tropicana Field, 1 Tropicana Drive, St. Petersburg, Saturday, April 14, to see the Rays takes on the Phillies. The game starts at 6:10 p.m. Click here for tickets.

Sponge Docks Arts & Crafts Show

The Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks Arts & Crafts Festival will take place Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sponge Docks on Dodecanese Boulevard. There will be more than 90 vendors selling fine art and crafts along with music and food.

Salute To The Military

The eighth annual Salute to the Military and First Responders will take place Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Horan Park, 7701 Boca Ciega Drive, St. Petersburg.

The event will include military vehicles and informational exhibits, benefits help from the Veterans Administration, the DAV Mobile Service Office van, live music, food vendors, arts, crafts and collectibles vendors and a kids fishing tournament.

Car Show

The Knights of Columbus will host its second annual car and truck show Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Light of Christ Catholic Church, 2176 Marilyn St., in Clearwater. Registration to show cars or trucks is $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show. The event will include a charity car wash, music, food and vendors. To register, click here.
