Man Killed When Car Flips Into Water Off Courtney Campbell

CLEARWATER, FL -- Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue are investigating a fatal crash on the Courtney Campbell Causeway.

The crash occurred at 4:13 Sunday, Aug. 19. The driver, Scott Anthony Wolf, 26, of Estero was driving his 2004 Chrysler Crossfire east -- the wrong way -- on the access road on the north side of the causeway when the car went out of control and flipped into the water upside down. The driver was pulled from the water by a Pinellas County Sheriff's deputy who arrived on scene. Wolf was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital where he died.
