Catcher Sabestian Valle Sparks Clearwater Victory
Threshers defeat Palm Beach Cardinals 5-2. Three Phillies maybe in Thresher jerseys on Thursday.
Catcher Sabestian Valle did not disappoint the thousands of young fans at Brighthouse Field Wednesday morning.
Valle hit a solo home run off the thatched roof of the Tiki Bar in left field, then singled with the bases loaded in the eighth helping the Threshers to a 5-2 win.
The 20 year old native of Los Mochis, San Aloa, Mexico, has been playing in the Phillie organization since he was 17 years old. Valle is currently batting .312 in 24 games.

Jeremy Barnes also homered in the eighth. Barnes from the University of Notre Dame was just called up from Lakewood Blueclaws May 2 and is batting .375.
The unusual early start was part of the Go Green Education Day, which took place throughout the Florida State League today.

The win improved the Threshers overall record to 22-11, winning eight of their last 10 games.

The Threshers and Palm Beach resume their four game series at Brighthouse Field 7 p.m. today. The probable starter for the Threshers is Phillies Roy Oswalt and his battery mate behind the plate will be Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz. Both are on rehab assignments with lower back inflammation. Chase Utley, who took today off may join them in the line-up as well.
