Chase Utley Scores Winning Run in 2-1 Victory

The Clearwater Threshers run production continues to sputter but Major League veteran Chase Utley found a way to score.

After being hit by a pitch in the ninth inning, he stole second. Utley reached third  on a fielders choice and scored the winning run on a wild pitch Friday night against the Stone Crabs.

Both teams sent two of their organizations premier prospects to the mound. Jarred Cosart, the number four prospect in the Phillies organization, gave up one run on three hits over eight complete innings.

The lone run came from a triple by the sensational Stone Crab shortstop Hak-Ju Lee.

Stone Crab starter Alez Colome was equally as good. The 22-year old from the Dominican Republic, is the seventh top prospect for the Rays. He worked seven complete innings, allowing only one run on three hits.

Besides being hit by a pitch, Utley also singled in his four plate appearances.

On deck: The Threshers will try to build on Friday's win. They play the Stone Crabs at 6:30 tonight at Bright House Field.
