CLEARWATER, FL — As the city of Clearwater continues to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the Community Redevelopment Agency and city officials are welcoming the Clearwater Hispanic Farmers Market to downtown, launching on Saturday, Oct. 16 and Sunday, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This new two-day, weekend-long market will take place at the northwest corner of Court Street and Myrtle Avenue at 710 Court St. on the third weekend of each month. This market aims to create a cultural experience enriched by local farmers, artisans, craft-makers, food and cultural performances.

“Creating welcoming and vibrant public spaces is a core part of the Community Redevelopment Agency’s mission. This market celebrates the established Hispanic community we have in downtown,” said CRA Director Amanda Thompson.

The grand opening of the Clearwater Hispanic Farmers Market will include an 11 a.m. Saturday ribbon-cutting ceremony with Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard and performances by three folklore children’s dancing groups: Grupo Mahetzi, Grupo Sones de Mexico and Grupo Raices de Mexico.

“We aim to create a cultural experience enriched by our local farmers, vendors, artisans, craft-makers and folklore performers,” said Clearwater Hispanic Farmers Market Director Dina Ramos. “We believe in supporting small businesses to build a stronger community of intercultural heritages and establish the market as a landmark attraction in the heart of downtown Clearwater.”
